WHOOPING CRANE Photo Tour ~ 2015
My Whooping Crane Photo Tour is always a popular event and sells out every year. This January 2015 we’ll once again focus our lenses on the Whooping Cranes of Aranasas. If you’re interested, I suggest that you sign up early! I have room for five (5) photographers to join me as we watch and photograph the cranes at their most active, feasting upon the Gulf-Coast bounty.
The Whooping Crane Photo Tour 2015 is designed to capture vivid images of endangered Whooping Cranes descended from nature’s last wild flock. We’ll spend two full days photographing the birds during boat-based shoots.
Watch the behavior of these unique birds in their wintering habitat along Aransas National Wildlife Refuge. Observe juveniles interacting with their parents. Wonder at the birds’ size and elegant gawkiness (these are North America’s tallest birds). Enjoy listening to the unique sound of their trumpeting calls. Photograph them pulling blue crabs up from estuary mud.
We will have multiple opportunities to take a variety of photographs of and learn about this amazing species along the way. Kevin Sims, captain of Jack Flash, does an amazing job of getting us up-close and personal with the birds (without disturbing them).
Expect also to see and learn about plenty of other estuary-loving birds, including: Brown & White Pelicans, Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets, Ibis, American Oystercatchers, Forster’s Terns, Black Skimmers, and more.
The boat leaves from the Rockport area about ½ hour before sunrise both days of our tour so you’ll want to stay in Rockport for the weekend. (See info below about lodging -—- not included in the tour.)
JEFF PARKER’S WHOOPING CRANE PHOTO TOUR INCLUDES:
TWO EXTENSIVE BOAT-BASED PHOTO SHOOTS and TWO AFTERNOON PHOTO SHOOTS IN & AROUND ROCKPORT:

Boat leaves approx. ½ hour before sunrise. Then, enjoy a second afternoon photographing in and around Rockport.
